Next Generation Schools Design Symposium Portland, Oregon, USA Saturday, April 9, 2016
Portland has begun to rebuild all of its schools. Almost all of its schools are 50 to 100 years old, and they are unsafe, outdated, and poor teaching and learning places. Last summer, ground was broken on the first schools - the beginning of a 32 year plan to rebuild all of its 85 schools. There is a strong desire in the community to build excellent, innovative, beautifully designed schools that reflect the best thinking in teaching and learning environments and that reflect the values and goals of Portland and Oregon. The Next Generation Schools Symposium is designed to see and hear new ideas in school design and inspire. It will feature speakers who have an international reputation for excellence in school design. The Symposium will be held at the Lincoln High School Auditorium April 9, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
